This book is a historical christian romance. When Eliza and her dad end up going to California to visit her uncle in his home. Eliza is left at the house because her father is going through depression and feels he can't take care of her anymore, that he leaves Eliza with her relative. That make Eliza set out to find her dad. She sets sale on the Virginia she is faced with the devastation of having to make a very difficult choice to survive, will she? The choice she makes puts her to journey with Daniel Clarke. What does this mean for Eliza, her family, faith and Daniel?I would recommend this to anyone that likes to read a book that moves along and deals with many different situations. This is a romance and adventure all in one. This book deals with heartache of growing up and dealing with the past. It also has a little bit of romance that makes you read to the end to find out what is going to happen. It would be a great book club read as it has questions in the back. This is also the type of book that has so many different situations making you want to just want to discuss with others.

In hindsight, they are hilarious because I know that God worked things out for our good. After more than eighteen years of marriage, I can honestly say that I am more in love with my husband than ever.
