A Distance Too Grand ~ Regina Scott

This book is the first book in the American Wonders Collection Series.  The book takes place in the Grand Canyon back in 1871.  Meg is left to take over the contract for the Army of photographing the Canyon after her dad dies.  When she takes over she realizes that the person in charge is someone that she broke their heart from years ago.  Capt. Ben is not happy that Meg is on this Army survey with him, but knows he doesn't have a choice.  The adventure begins and so does the danger, romance, and commitment that they both left in the past.

I am not a fan of historical reads, but this one was a great story that kept me reading and was very touching.  It was written with great detail that made you feel you were right in that time.  It is a book that any age can read and understand.  If you like romance and history, this will be a good read for you.

Dark Ambition ~ Irene Hannon

This is book #3 in the Code of Honor Series and can be read as a stand alone book.  This is a fast paced story, with murder and mystery.  When it comes to drama this book has it all murder, corruption, friendship, fraud and romance all in one book.  With many twist and turns, you will not want or be able to put the book down until the last page.

I would recommend this book if you like a page turner that you will be surprised to the very end.  It was a book for all those that love mysteries and being able to understand the characters.  Great book for those that really want a book to read that you can't put down.

Unscripted ~ Davis Bunn

This book is one that starts right into the story line in the first chapter.  It will take you on a journey through the Hollywood scene of making a movie along with some mystery and romance.  With many different characters and their own issues, the story line keeps moving.  This is the type of book that keeps the reader entertained and reading to the end.

I would recommend this book to those that enjoy a different type of story than your typical mystery book.  It is a different type of read than I am used to, but would read this type again.

Beginner's Pluck* ~ Liz Forkin Bohannon

This book is all about being real and finding your real passion.  Liz writes about how to live your passion, not how to find your passion.  So many are being someone for someone else and not being their selves.  Liz gives us stories and explanations that we can relate and understand.  Her writing is very easy to understand and relate to.

I would recommend this book to everyone of every age.  It is funny, touching and so real to life.  Finally someone that writes the truth in the way life is supposed to be, all about what you enjoy and want to do, not what you think others want you to do.  I loved this book and if you want a fun afternoon read, go buy this book.... very entertaining and will be life changing.. for a better you.  Everyone get Pluck!!!

Forgiving My Father, Forgiving Myself ~ Ruth Graham

This book is such a comfort that explains forgiveness in a new and fresh way.  Ruth tells us of how she went to a prison and had a visit with a prisoner on death row that knew God had forgiven him.  Ruth then gives her own life experiences and how she has had to forgive and how it has been hard at times for her.  Each chapter starts with a story, then an explanation and then God's word as back up to Ruth's belief.

I loved this book, it was so much more than I had expected.  Many books have been written about forgiving, but this one really explains what people have a hard time with forgiveness... Ruth does a great job of how you can relate to God's word and makes you realize a different side of this issue than what you have read before.  This is a page turner of teaching and love for God and his people.  I would recommend this to everyone at any age.

100 Words of Affirmation your Husband needs to Hear ~ Lisa Jacobson

This book was not what I was expecting, it has exactly what is says, each page give one saying and a very short, sometimes one sentence explanation.  I found some of the sayings were quite short and just plain common sense.  Example is # 44 I need you..... the short explanation is that you should tell your husband that you need him.  Everyone wants to be needed, this is common sense of appreciating anyone.  This book doesn't have any deepness or feelings to it. It felt like it was just words on a page and what does it say that you have to purchase a book to tell a husband what his wife wants to hear?

I don't recommend this book as it is so plain and simple... a little too simple for me to spend my time or money on.  This book didn't give anything new or  any ideas or advice that I felt was worth putting in a book.  The info was more of what you would expect in one of those internet sights of a list of things.   Unfortunately, this was not what I was expecting and was quite disappointed.  I was expecting to read God's word and more thoughts .....  this book  had none of this.

100 Words of Affirmation your Wife ~ Matt Jacobson

This book was not what I was expecting, it has exactly what is says, each page give one saying and a very short, sometimes one sentence explanation.  I found some of the sayings were quite short and just plain common sense.  Example is # 34 Your hair looks fantastic..... the short explanation is that when your wife gets her hair done, she wants you tell her it looks fantastic..... (no kidding, what women doesn't want to be told "she looks fantastic?"...  This book doesn't have any deepness or feelings to it. It felt like it was just words on a page and what does it say that you have to purchase a book to tell a husband what his wife wants to hear?
