Dining with Joy ~ Rachel Hauck

This is the story of Joy and her secret. She is the host of a reality Tv cooking show, even when she can't cook (this is the secret). When her dad passes away his last wish was for her to take over the cooking show so she does. Then Luke a handsome new chef in town comes into the picture and becomes her assistant on the show and a love interest. She is trying to keep her secret and at the same time is not happy with doing the show nor having to lie to people.

This book is a fluff book and was very slow for my reading. I had a hard time getting through it as it had alot of pages that seemed to make the book drag. The good thing was it was a fast read and you didn't really have to concentrate on what was happening. As this was the first book I have read from this author, I don't know if I would read another. This book needed more adventure and action for my reading.

Choosing to See ~ Mary Beth Chapman

This is the life of Mary Beth, the story of how her and Steven met, the steps through marriage, having children and then the tragic loss of Maria. She tells this story in the most amazing way, that you don't want to stop reading. This book has GOD's hands all over it. She tells about how she is dealing with the loss of Maria and how GOD prepared the family for the loss, months before the HE takes Maria home. Mary Beth opens your eyes about the signs GOD gives us in life and how we need to appreciate that GOD has a purpose for everything.

I RECOMMEND THIS AS A MUST READ !!!!!!

Run to Overcome ~ Meb Keflezighi

This is a book about a man who is so humble and a true inspiration that everyone should read this book. It is the story of Meb and how he was born in the poor country of Eritrea, to better his family his father finds a way to move his family to the United States and they all become citizens. The background of this family is amazing coming from a very poor country and not being able to speak English, they had nothing but their faith in GOD.

The hard work, spiritual belief and willingness to put in very long hours of studying has made Meb what he is today. Meb never thought of becoming a runner, in a PE class one day his teacher saw something in him and that is what started his career in running. Meb is a very humble man as he never had his eyes on always winning, it was always about doing the best that you can do. The book tells the story of his running history and his competitions. He has many struggles but always leaves it in GOD hands and shows great obedience to his beliefs.

I didn't expect this story to be so touching to my heart and such an inspiration. This book shows that it isn't about always winning it is how you run the race.

Losing it ~ Valerie Bertinelli

As a fan of One Day at a Time and Van Halen this book is told by Valerie from her childhood, her marriage with Alex Van Halen and the biggest struggle in her life, her weight. She tells the story of how she has dealt with the battles in her life and how she has over come depression and her love of eating (anything and anytime).

I enjoyed this book and was able to read it fast because it held my interest. If you were a child of the 80's, loved Van Halen or struggle with depression or weight issues read this book.

(I have this book)
