This book is written in the tense of a Hollywood reporter that wants to have a breaking story of how these two people survive the turmoil of the media and all the flashy Hollywood stories. It is told by the reporter interviewing Jack and then Grace, you get to know both their backgrounds and all the issues that they have in their closets. Thunder Dog ~ Michael Hingson
This is a true story of Michael Hingson and his dog Roselle who survive the twin towers on 9/11. The adventure is amazing because Michael is blind and Roselle is his seeing eye dog. The story covers the events from the morning of 9/11 and also tells of Michael's challenges growing up blind. It details alot of the stumbling blocks he has as growing up and how his mom and dad never wanted him treated special. They always treated him as every child would be treated, including him riding his bike through the neighborhood and the neighbors calling to complain that a blind kid was riding a bike. It follows many different circumstances that he faced from childhood, to college, to marriage, and working at the twin towers.
I enjoyed this book and it is a great teaching tool for everyone. It shows that just because you are different doesn't mean you have to say I can't do anything because of my condition. It means you can do it, and you try doing whatever you want. If you have a vision you can do anything you set your mind to do.
I would recommend this book to everyone.
