Stepping out in faith ~ Mark Gilbert

This is a book that has 11 different stories from people that were catholic and became Christians.  They tell real stories from their past and give insights on their faith.  This book does not bash Catholics.  I found it very interesting and a very easy read.  It explains a lot of the catholic faith and answers a lot of questions that have been asked about the religion.  Each person tells how they started with being catholic and found that they were missing something in their lives, they come to realize that they were missing a relationship with GOD.  They tell how they were able to find salvation from learning that believing in GOD and praying to HIM is what you need in your life, not going through a priest or a saint, you need to go through JESUS.

I would recommend this book to all those that have had questions or friends that are catholic and never understood all the rituals and praying to saints meant.  This book will clear this up for you and does it in a way that will make it easy for you to understand.

The Daniel Plan ~ Rick Warren

This book is total disappointment.  It is very short and not much useful information for starting a diet plan for GOD.  This book talks about how GOD has made our body as his temple to use for his purpose and has scripture to back up and that is about all.  It does include recipes and a 40 day diet plan that is very complicated and not very friendly.  The products are very hard to find in the grocery store and I don't see how anyone would be able to stay on this diet as a life time change.

I would not recommend this book to anyone, don't waste your time or money.

Open Your Eyes ~ Jake Olson

This book tells the story of twelve year old, Jake Olson and more. Jake was born a twin with a rare cancer, he lost his left eye at 10 months old and then his right eye at 12 years old. The book is set up in a format to be an inspirational book to help people going through difficult situations in there lives. It is set up in the format of categories, each chapter starts out with a bible story, bible verse, a personal story and a commentary of either Jake, his or dad and how they are dealing with Jake's situation of being blind. Jake tells how he is not going to let his blindness stop him from enjoying life and his dream of becoming a PGA golfer.

I enjoyed this book, but was surprised that it is a self help book and not your typical biography. It is the type of book that you read through once and then use as a reference book. You can pick up and read each chapter as you need. It is very encouraging, it would be a great book for those going through a very difficult time. It teaches that GOD has a purpose for each and everyone of us. I would recommend this book for those who want to be encouraged and need to live a happier life.

First ~ Rich Froning

This book is the story of Rich Froning, two time Cross Fit Champion.  It is a story of faith and trust, Rich tells how he is addicted to Cross Fit and how his faith in GOD is the real reason he is able to compete and give encouragement to others on a daily basis.  It tells how he starts out in childhood living on a farm and his father making him do many chores that he feels is not worth wild doing, but as he gets older and in competition he realizes how it all plays part in his life.  Rich tells how he has put GOD first and how everything he does is all GOD's plan.  His life verse is Galatians 6:14 and tells how he uses it for GOD's purpose.

I enjoyed this journey of Rich's life and his commitment to spread the word of GOD.  I would recommend this book to all ages. I found it to be very refreshing and meaningful, Rich's statement of how it is all in our minds and most of the time our body's hold back because of minds saying we can't do it.  If you put it on your mind and do it for GOD then you can make anything happen.
