This is book #1 of the Amish series, Journey to Pleasant Prairie that takes place in the 1842. This is the story of Hannah Yoder, Amish girl, living in Lancaster, PA. She has feelings for childhood friend and neighbor, Adam who is a Mennonite. Adam asks for her hand in marriage, what should she do as a young Amish woman? Then her family is having to make the decision to move west, will she stay or move with them? She is then challenged with Josef, a young Amish man who wants her to be his wife and move out west with him, who should she pick?
I would recommend this to those that enjoy reading Amish books. It is a good read for an afternoon of relaxing reading. It would be a good gift book for your friend that likes to read Amish series. I felt it had a little bit more drama and subject matters then the other Amish books I have read.
