The Winnowing Fork ~ Betty Ruth Weatherby

This book is a biblical historical fiction read, it is for young readers but, every age will enjoy this inspiring read.   This is the bible story of Zacchaeus and how his life might have been (more detailed than the bible).   You will follow how he though he had all the happiness with just his coins in his pocket, until he hears God speak.  While his family is hurting with disease and forced to go their own way, he is left lonely and becomes greedy.  As he meets Jesus, will his heart change?   Can he overcome the greed and learn what love really is?

I would recommend this book to those that like reading biblical fiction.  It is one of those reads that makes you think, did this really happen this way?  It will make you want to read the bible version and compare.  A great read for the whole family to discuss and an inspiration to know how God loves us all. (it's not about the material stuff, it is about man kindness, love, family and faith.)

 More from Betty Ruth

Zacchaeus was always a puzzle to me. How did he become a hated tax collector and only

One meeting with Jesus turned his life around. So, I imagined a story, gave him a family and neighbors to create a life around him as he accumulated his “taxes.”
