This book is part of the Love Inspired Suspense books and book 4 of the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series. When Dory Winslow goes back to her home town as a private investigator, she sets out to solve a murder mystery from years ago and that the person that went to jail for the crime was framed. She is hot on the trail to retrack and find out what really happens. She meets up with Chad her old flame and the father of her five year old daughter that he doesn't know he is the child's father. She wants to keep it a secret still from him and he decides to come into her life again by helping her go over the evidence that of that past murder that put his dad in jail for it. They start to go over all the evidence and piecing things together when things start to happen and putting Dory's life in danger. When Chad decides to protect her, then his life is the one that becomes in danger. Can they solve this murder and survive? Will Chad find out about his daughter, he never knew he had? How will Dory, Chad and Ivy end up? together? apart?
I would recommend this to any age, it is a great fast afternoon read. Once you start reading you can't put it down. I always enjoy Dana's writing because she keeps the twist and turns going and also puts that family touch and meaning into all her stories, making you feel for the characters. I always look forward to reading her books because I know it will be one that I can't stop reading until the end. This one was another good one.....
