This book starts out about a little boy that is afraid of the dark and he asks his grandpa about darkness. Grandpa tells the story of “The Lightlings” which the “King of Light” has made and lives in the land of the light. One day something terrible happens and the lightlings disobey the King. They become dim and darkness starts to fall over the area. The story continues as the King brings a light to the Lightlings, which they find out is the King’s son. The message here is about the story of GOD and JESUS, a different version of the Christmas story.
This book has great illustrations and would be appropriate for ages 4 -8. It would be a great read for a bedtime story, Sunday School lesson or VBS lesson. This has a strong message of GOD, JESUS and heaven. I would recommend this story to everyone, even adults as a devotional read.
