Untangled ~ Carey Scott

Carey tells the story of her how she has survived her childhood of abuse and being insecure.  She tells us how GOD can allow us to overcome all those trials and tribulations of insecurity in our lives.  Her story deals with all the situations with family, friends and co-workers that we face in our everyday life.  Women in today's world let their minds wander and get the best of them.  This book will have you thinking and realizing that your life is normal and GOD wants you to be your own person and not like anyone else.  GOD's plan is for us to follow HIM and HIS plan, not what others are doing nor what others think we should be doing.

I would recommend this to women, especially if they have been a victim of abuse.  It is a good book for anyone that wants to get out of that insecure feelings of not being good enough in life. The title says it all, don't get tangled up in today's world, get untangled and enjoy life the way GOD intended us to.

In Firefly Valley ~ Amanda Cabot

This is book #2 in the Texas Crossroads Series.  I did not read book 1 and was able to pick right up and read this book without guessing anything.  The story had a good meaning of how GOD has a plan for us and not to judge others, you never know what the other person has for a story.

I felt that the story was a little slow at the beginning for me, but did pick up with some drama and a twist to keep interested.  I would recommend this to women that enjoy a romance with a little bit of unexpected drama.  This is an easy read that is meant for reading when you want to relax and escape from the real world.

A Love Like Ours ~ Becky Wade

This is Book 3 in the Porter Family Series.  Lyndie and Jake are childhood friends, then they are split apart because of the family moving out of town.  When Jake is looking for a person to work with his horses, and then Lyndie moves back to town, she talks Jake into hiring her.   She tries to get Jake to open up about the childhood relationship, however, Jake wants nothing to do with it.  However, as the story goes and Lyndie is determined to find out what is going on with Jake, she makes a plan to have his friendship or more back in her life.

I would recommend this to those that want a good summer read, a book that you sit back, relax and have a cup of ice tea.  This is a regular romance story, that you will need to be in the mood to just have a easy and fun read for the summer afternoons.

When Grace Sings ~ Kim Vogel Sawyer

Great story of how life can give you so many choices, but you have to make the one that is right for you.  This book moves along and keeps you wanting to read.  Each chapter is told by a different character so you get an overall view of a different story lines that seem to blend perfectly in the end. It is about a traditional Amish family that wants to keep tradition going and provides their son with the family farm.  The twist is the son doesn't want the farm, he wants to go to college, but can't seem to tell his parents about his wishes.  Then you have a reporter that goes undercover into the Amish community to write a story about Amish families and their beliefs.  Both these stories are blended together to give us a great read.

This was book #2 in the Zimmerman Restoration Trilogy and it left me wanting book #3 and to go back and read book # 1.

I recommend this book for all those that want a great summer read that keeps your attention and makes you understand a lot more about the Amish lifestyle.

Amish Promises ~ Leslie Gould

As the first in the book in the neighbors of  Lancaster County series, it is a great read with much going on.  The story is about and English family with the struggles of the husband being an Iraq veteran living with injuries that leave him in a wheelchair and moving into an Amish community.  It is a great story of how they deal with the changes and how the Amish accept them into their world.

I would recommend this book as it is a great read that keeps you wondering what is going to happen.  Just when you think you know what is going to happen it does a twist and turn.  This will make you want book 2 fast.  I am not a avid reader of Amish because they are predictable, but this is a great book that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good story that keeps you guessing.

Heart Sisters ~ Natalie Chambers Snapp

This is a great book for all women to read, it reaches your heart and makes you feel that you are normal.  Each word of advice is backed up with a bible verse and GOD's word.  This book is great to teach us that life is not for busyness, it is enjoying GOD's love through friends and family.  It teaches us that we have all types of friends that cross our path in life and it is all in GOD's plan for us.

I would recommend this to all women, it makes you realize that you have so many options to make your life so much happier and just by doing a few simple things as reading GOD's word. This is one of those books you read and get the ahhhhaaa moments and it makes you feel that you are not alone and weird, you are actually normal and all women go through these feelings.  Great book that makes so much sense, wish I had this book so many years ago.

Reservations for Two ~ Hillary Mantoon Lodge

This is book 2 of the Two Door Series.  I had read book one and couldn't wait for this book to come out.  I was disappointed that the story of Juliette and Neil wasn't as heartfelt as the first book.  The book does have good recipes in it as the first does, but this story continues with the history of Juliette's grandmothers love story and the mystery of it.  I had a hard time getting through this book because it wasn't as flowing and passionate as the first book.

I would recommend that you read book one first, if you pick up book two you can read it but I don't think you will get the full effect of the relationship and true meaning behind the book.  Note:  this book will leave you hanging and you will need to read book 3 to know what will happen to the couple and what Juliette is going to do.  I am hesitant to recommend this book because it was a disappointment from reading the first book.  But if you do read book 1 and want to continue on then get this book.  I hope book 3 will give more passion and feelings as book 1 did.

Side by Side ~ Jana Kelley

What a great story of two women from different parts of the world and different views on religion.  This is a great story on GOD having control of all our situations as long as you keep your faith and belief in HIM.  This is about a family that moves to Sudan to do mission work and how they survive in a very different culture.  You meet the women of this country and learn how much different it is for them then being an American women.

It is a great book and makes you realize that how blessed American's have it to be able to believe in the religion of you your choice then in other countries that you have to believe in what your country believes. If you do not follow the countries religion will result in shame to your family and death for you.

I would recommend this book to everyone, especially those that are thinking of the mission field and women of all ages, it is a great read and is done in a very professional and faith based way.  It does a great job of telling both sides of each women's stories.  Jana does a great job of making you feel like you are apart of the story.  Buy this book.

The Heart of the Amish ~ Suzanne Woods Fisher

This is a great book about forgiveness!  It contains short stories of the Amish community dealing with today's world and having forgiveness.  Each story is a few pages long and is very meaningful and makes you think, how would you handle this same situation?  Would you be able to forgive someone for treating you badly?  It gives a new outlook and ways to overcome how you can treat people in a very respectful way of overcoming conflicts and misunderstandings.

I would recommend this to all ages, everyone should read this book.  It is great with making you think and realize that if you handle a situation differently, you may get a much better outcome.  It is all about accepting and enjoying your family, co-workers, friends and anyone you meet.  Loved this book.  Very easy to pick up read a few minutes, read all the way through or a daily reading you can choose what works best for you.

To Win her favor ~ Tamera Alexander

A story that takes you back into time and places you in 1869 with great detailed writing, you can picture yourself being in that era.  This is the first book I have read by Tamera Alexander and it won't be my last.

The story is about Maggie a young women that wants to have her horse win the next Payton Stakes, which will save her father's farm from the tax collectors.  Maggie's dad (Linden) unexpectedly meets Cullen one day and makes a deal that he can buy the farm from him if he marries his daughter Maggie.  Cullen is Irish and has come from England to start a new life all over.  After trying to purchase a horse and the local's do not accept him, because buying a horse means staying in town, he agrees to Linden's deal and stays in town.  The adventure continues with Maggie and Cullen getting to know and accept each other as a couple.  This story is written so well it tugs at your heart and you can't stop reading, it is a page turner.

I would recommend this book to all those that enjoy a good page turner, romance/drama/heartfelt all in one book.  I loved it and couldn't stop reading, each chapter left you to read more because you wanted to know what was happening.  It is fast paced and moves very smoothly to keep you interested.
