Read Easy Bible ~ NIV Zondervan

This is an easy read, large print bible great for those who need just a little help with a bible for easier reading.  It is a basic bible that contains red ink when Jesus speaks.  The size is perfect for traveling, taking to work, to church or even at the beach.  This bible reminds me of a thinline, however, it does have big print and has a flat lay format.  The flat lay is great to put on a table and read or hold in your lap, the pages stay in place and you don't have to worry about losing your spot or the book closing on you.

I would recommend this as a gift or for a treat to yourself.   I really liked the size, font, quality of the cover and pages, and the flat lay format.  This is great for all ages and if you only want a bible then this is the one to buy.  If you are looking for a study bible or a bible with extras this one is not for you.  This is just  plain and simple of GOD's word.

I'm Nobody ~ Alex Marestaing

This is a teen book, it is a quick read.  I read through this story and just didn't get it.  It is about Caleb who has been homebound and home schooled for many years.  He is scared to go outside until he starts to receive notes from the author Emily Dickinson.  Then you have Iris the girl next door that wants to know about Caleb and do a documentary on his life.  They become friends and obsessed with the run down house across the street.  Iris and Caleb, become friends with Mr. Rowe who then works with all of them to clean up the mysterious house.

I just didn't understand this book, I didn't get why the reviews said it was a touching story and it would make you cry...... I was not touched by this story at all, I even read the ending twice to see what I was missing.  I thought this was a Christian book, it has no reference to GOD or faith in any of this book.  I was disappointed because the reviews had me thinking it was going to be a great touching story.  I wouldn't recommend this book as it is not my type of story and I really didn't enjoy it.  I was glad it was a short book and I only wasted an afternoon of my time.  I kept reading through because I thought the ending was going to be some great meaning.... Sorry, didn't happen for me.

I recommend this book for the summer and wanting a good romantic, chic read.  Just know it will not last the whole summer to read, as you won't be able to put the book down.

Active Spirituality ~ Brian G. Hedges

This is the book for those that want a different kind of format with a lesson in God's grace.  This is in the format of letters to a young adult trying to find Christianity and the right balance for real life.  The letters are written from Pastor Brian Hedges (author).  This can be used as a daily devotion as each letter is very short but, very informative.  The book contains 31 letters from many different topics from turning to GOD, faith, grace, salvation and many more topics. The topics can be easily found from using the table of contents.

I would recommend this book to those that want a different kind of format and theological information written by a pastor to help believer's apply Christian Theology to their real life.  I was not overwhelmed by this book, I could take it or leave it.  I thought the letter format would make it more interesting to me, however, it was just ok.

A table by the window ~ Hillary Manton Lodge

This book is a fun and mysterious story.  The main character is Juliette and how she makes choices in her life that are both complicated and part of what should she do vs. what does everyone else expect her to do.  Juliette is a food blogger, single, youngest child of five, has a large family, involved with online dating, and her family owns a restaurant.  This book is packed with lots of issues and it is never a dull moment with a mysterious plot of an old family photo and what does it mean?  The mystery is all about a man in the photo and how is he connected to Juliette and her family?  You won't know until you read the book, as this is the 1st book in a series, it does end but with the option to continue in the next book.   At the end of each chapter is a family recipe, that you can cook yourself.

I liked this book and it was very entertaining.  I would recommend this book to women and those that want to read a good chic book.  This book would make a great hallmark movie.  The downfall to this book would be the ending, it doesn't really close the story, it is left open to be concluded in book 2 of the series.  Which now I can't wait for the next book to know what is going to happen.
